I dont think I’ve ever met anyone who doesn’t love chocolate hedgehog slice. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure there are non-lovers out there, but I just haven’t come across one yet (but maybe I just surround myself with fellow chocolate lovers!!). Anyway, there’s a reason that people love this slice. It’s soooo darn good.

Oh and it’s also quick, easy and no-bake. Tick, tick, tickety-tick!!! Gotta love that!

Growing up Mum would always make hedgehog slice with sultanas added in to the mixture… so I just always thought that was the norm (check out my Melt and Mix Hedgehog Slice and you’ll get what I mean!). But ‘apparently’ that is NOT the norm!!! Nope, a friend of mine and I were talking about this a few weeks ago and she convinced me (with the help of a hedgehog slice in the cafe we were in) that most people do not make hedgehog slice with sultanas. WHAT!!?? Mind blown!!

Anyway, I thought I’d test out this whole crazy ‘no-sultanas’ in chocolate hedgehog slice thing for myself. And yep, I get it. It’s just as good without them (especially with the crunchy walnuts added in).

And so, here it is… my actual ‘classic’ Chocolate Hedgehog Slice recipe!!! It’s still the same melt and mix method and takes only 15 minutes to make and tastes AMAZING!!!

But of course, if you’re planning to send this slice to school in lunch boxes, then feel free to leave the nuts out and replace them with sultanas (which would make my mum happy.. hehehehe!). xxx

This slice used to be one of my all time favourites. Time to get it out of retirement I think!

      Absolutely!!!

  2. Jen says:

Where is your original sultana recipe? I used to make this all the time for my husband but can’t find it in either link. I am allergic to walnuts and replacing them with sultanas in this mix just isn’t the same

Hi Jen, I’m so sorry but that older recipe has been replaced by this one. xx
