Pieces of slice topped with white chocolate peanut topping.

A sweet and creamy no-bake peanut butter slice that takes just 10 minutes to prepare! Made from butter, peanut butter, crushed cookies, icing sugar and white chocolate. The perfect slice for those that have 'peanut butter and chocolate' cravings!

Squares of peanut butter slice topped with white chocolate and peanut butter topping.

If there's one thing that Bake Play Smile is known for, it's no-bake slices!!

In fact my peppermint slice, hedgehog slice, lemon and coconut slice and Caramello slice are some of the most popular recipes on my little piece of sugary internet!

And why wouldn't my no-bake slices be so popular? They're incredibly quick (most take less than 10 minutes to prepare), super easy and there's no need to turn the oven on.

    Winning!

Why You're Going To Love This Recipe

Let me start off by saying... there's a LOT to love about my Peanut Butter Slice recipe:

    • no-bake - the perfect slice to make when you're craving something sweet but don't want to turn the oven on! Just mix and chill.
    • quick & easy - whether you're a beginner baker or an experienced cook, there's no doubt that perfecting a no-bake slice recipe is achievable by absolutely anybody. And with just 10 minutes prep time, this couldn't be quicker to make!
    • Reeses Peanut Butter Cups - if you love the famous peanut butter cups made by Reeses, then this is the slice for you! It has exactly the same creamy, melt-in-your mouth peanut butter flavour! (I've been truly devastated ever since Lindt discontinued their peanut butter Lindt Balls)....
    • freezer-friendly - my peanut butter slice freezes and defrosts beautifully. Simply store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months and allow to defrost before consuming. I recommend placing sheets of grease-proof baking paper between each layer of slice when freezing.
    • great for fetes & bake sales - this creamy peanut and chocolate flavoured slice is always popular with kids and adults alike.

    What You Need

    Just 5 basic ingredients!

Note: please scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of the post for the ingredient quantities and the full detailed method.

    • butter - you can use salted or unsalted butter for this recipe. Personally, I prefer salted butter as it brings out the delicious sweet, salty, and creamy peanut flavours.
    • peanut butter - it's important to use creamy store-bought peanut butter in this recipe (either smooth or crunchy). Natural or homemade peanut butter are not suitable for this recipe. I recommend Kraft or Bega peanut butter.
    • plain sweet biscuits - you can use absolutely any plain sweet biscuits (or cookies as they're known in the US) for this recipe. I generally use Arnotts Marie biscuits.
    • icing sugar - also known as confectioners sugar or powdered sugar.
    • white chocolate - choose a white cooking chocolate or white chocolate melts for this recipe.

Note: please scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of the post for the ingredient quantities and the full detailed method.

Step 1 - Crush The Biscuits

Using a food processor, Thermomix or blender, crush the biscuits until fine crumbs remain.

Note: You can use a rolling pin to crush them if you don't have a food processor, Thermomix or blender.

    Step 2 - Melt

Butter and peanut butter in a glass bowl.

Melt the butter and peanut butter in the microwave on low heat. Stir until melted and combined.

Melt the white chocolate and the extra peanut butter. Stir to combine.

Melted white chocolate and peanut butter spread over slice in a baking tray.

Spread over the slice and then chill in the fridge before cutting and serving.

    Expert Tips & FAQ

It's absolutely impossible to go wrong with this simple peanut butter slice recipe.

Here's a few simple tips for making it perfect every single time!

Can I use homemade peanut butter for this recipe?

No! As much as I love homemade peanut butter and the natural store-bought versions, they're just not suitable for this recipe. You will need to use a creamy store-bought peanut butter like Kraft or Bega brands (either smooth or crunchy).

    What is icing sugar?

Icing sugar is also known as confectioners sugar or powdered sugar. It's a very fine white powdered sugar. You can use either 'pure' icing sugar or 'soft icing sugar mixture' in this recipe.

Is this recipe suitable for school lunch boxes?

As this recipe contains peanut butter, it is not suitable for lunch boxes at schools with a nut-free policy. Check your schools policy to be sure.

    Storing

This slice can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 7 days.

    Freezing

Store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months and allow to defrost before consuming. I recommend placing sheets of greaseproof baking paper between each layer of slice when freezing.
