    What You Need

Note: Scroll to the recipe card at the bottom for the ingredients quantities and full detailed method.

Ingredients needed to make the recipe in separate bowls.
    • Beef mince - also called ground beef.
    • Salt and pepper - to season.
    • Olive oil - used to fry the taco's in.
    • Mini tortillas - these small tortillas are the perfect size for tacos and easy to handle!
    • Burger cheese - also known as American cheese. This ready-sliced cheese is perfect for this recipe as it melts quickly. You can use another melting cheese but be aware that it could take longer to melt and your taco could overcook.
    • Iceberg lettuce - the classic lettuce to use with a burger! However feel free to use your favourite type of lettuce.
    • Dill pickles - also known as gherkins or pickles.
    • Burger sauce - or make your own homemade burger sauce using the sauce in this Big Mac casserole recipe. You can serve Big Mac tacos with ketchup or mustard if you prefer.

    Equipment Required

You just need a bowl to mix the minced beef and a frying pan with a lid to cook the tacos in - that's it!

    Expert Tips

    • Press down hard on the taco to spread the beef mince thinly across it - this ensures that the beef cooks quickly and evenly.
    • Make sure your frying pan is hot - if your pan isn't preheated then the beef can dry out as it cooks and won't get that delicious golden crispy surface!
    • Place the tacos in a low/warm oven while you cook the remaining tacos.
    • Serving - Big Mac tacos are best served immediately.
    • Serving ideas - these are so delicious with a side of fries, sweet potato fries or crunchy potato wedges!

    FAQs

    Can I double this recipe?

Absolutely! If making a lot of Big Mac tacos to feed a crowd, you may want to use two frying pans to cook two tacos at a time!

Can I freeze Big Mac Tacos?

No, I don't recommend freezing these beef tacos. However you can freeze the beef patties and then defrost before cooking them. Place uncooked patties in an artight container with layers of baking paper between to stop them from sticking together.

What other ingredients can I add to my smashed burger taco?

You can top the beef taco with thin slices of red onion, diced tomatoes, crispy bacon, avocado or even jalapeño slices!
