Equipment

  • Frying pan
  • Stove-top

Ingredients

  • 500 g beef mince
  • 10 mini tortillas
  • 10 slices burger cheese American cheese
  • 2 cups iceberg lettuce finely chopped
  • ¾ cup dill pickles gherkins, thinly sliced
  • burger sauce

Instructions

  • Place the beef mince into a bowl. Season with salt and pepper and mix to combine.
Divide the beef into 10 equal sized balls.
  • Heat 1 tbs oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  • Place one of the beef mince balls onto the centre of a mini tortilla and place it (beef-side down) into the frying pan.
Smash the beef down with a plate or something heavy so that the beef spreads across the tortilla.
  • Cook for 1-2 minutes or until the beef is brown and cooked through.
  • Flip the taco over and place a slice of burger cheese on top of the beef.
Cover the frying pan with a lid and cook for 30 seconds or until the cheese has melted.
  • Place the tacos in a low/warm oven while you cook the remaining tacos.
  • Serve with chopped iceberg lettuce, sliced pickles and burger sauce.
Fold the tacos together and enjoy!

Notes

RECIPE NOTES & TIPS
  • Press down hard on the taco to spread the beef mince thinly across it - this ensures that the beef cooks quickly and evenly.
  • Make sure your frying pan is hot - if your pan isn't preheated then the beef can dry out as it cooks and won't get that delicious golden crispy surface!
  • Place the tacos in a low/warm oven while you cook the remaining tacos.
  • Serving - these tacos are best served immediately.
  • Serving ideas - these are so delicious with a side of fries, sweet potato fries or crunchy potato wedges!
  • Freezing - I do not recommend freezing these tacos. However you can freeze the uncooked meat patties. Place them in an airtight container with layers of baking paper between to prevent them sticking together. Thaw before frying.
