Do you ever just have a sudden craving for dessert, but don't want to go through the extra steps of washing multiple dishes, preheating the oven, and all that jazz? Same here.

    What You Need

Note: please scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of the post for ingredient quantities and the full detailed method.

Cocoa powder, flour, brown sugar, milk, and melted butter - ingredients for microwave chocolate brownies in individual bowls
    • plain flour - use plain (all-purpose) flour for this brownie recipe.
    • cocoa powder - cocoa powder is what I use, but you can use cacao powder instead.
    • brown sugar - gives the soft textures in the brownie. You can use either light or dark brown sugar.
    • butter - salted or unsalted butter is fine to use.
    • milk - I use regular full fat milk, but any type of whole milk will work for this recipe.
    • optional- cream or ice cream is optional for serving, but highly recommended.

What can I bake in the microwave?

You can bake all kinds of things in the microwave! I like to bake cakes and make fudge in the microwave.

The best mug cake recipe yet. I made mine in shallow tea cups and the recipe make four. I also added a small handful of white chocolate chips and 1/2 tspn baking powder, as I like my brownies/mug cakes a little poofy.
