Banana Ice Cream Ingredients

Frozen bananas - that's it! Everything else is an optional flavour add-in.
Note: Scroll to the recipe card at the bottom for the ingredients quantities and full detailed method.
- Frozen bananas - must be peeled, chopped and fully frozen beforehand. This is what gives you that thick, creamy soft-serve texture when blended.
Variations
- Chocolate Banana - add 1 tbs of Milo or cocoa powder, plus some chocolate chips for a proper chocolate hit.
- Peanut Butter Banana - swirl through peanut butter for extra creaminess and a protein boost.
- Berry Banana (GF/Vegan) - blend with frozen strawberries or blueberries for a fresh, fruity version.
- Tropical Twist (GF/Vegan) - add frozen mango or pineapple for a summery, refreshing flavour.
- Nutty Banana - toss in half a cup of pecans, cashews, walnuts, pistachios or macadamias.
How To Make Thermomix Banana Ice Cream
Just 2 minutes and 4 easy steps - honestly the hardest part is waiting for the bananas to freeze.
Note: Scroll to the recipe card at the bottom for the ingredients quantities and full detailed method.

- Place the frozen banana pieces into the Thermomix bowl. Add any optional flavourings if using.
- Mix for 15 seconds, gradually increasing to Speed 8. Scrape down the sides of the bowl.
- Mix for 1 minute on Speed 4, or until smooth and creamy.
- Serve immediately for a soft-serve texture, or pop in the freezer briefly for a firmer consistency.

Recipe Tips
- No Thermomix? A food processor or blender works just as well - just chop the bananas into smaller 2cm pieces before freezing so the blades can do their thing.
- Peel and chop bananas before freezing - don't skip this step!
- Freeze for at least 1-2 hours, ideally overnight - the more frozen, the creamier the result.
- Add optional flavours before blending - not halfway through.
- Scrape down the sides of the bowl between mixing to make sure everything blends evenly.
- Serve immediately for the best soft-serve texture - it's at its absolute peak right out of the machine.
- Have leftovers? Freeze them, then let the ice cream sit at room temperature for a few minutes before eating.
- Double or triple the recipe easily - just increase the mixing time slightly.

Thermomix Banana Ice Cream FAQs
Nope - frozen bananas are non-negotiable! They're what give you that thick, creamy soft-serve texture. Fresh bananas will just blend into a smoothie.
Two likely culprits: your bananas weren't frozen enough (they need at least 1-2 hours, ideally overnight), or they need a little more blending time. Scrape down the sides and give it another 30 seconds on Speed 4.
Yes! When made with just bananas (and dairy-free flavour add-ins), it's completely dairy-free, vegan and gluten-free. Naturally.
Absolutely - a good food processor or high-powered blender works just as well. Just make sure you chop your bananas into small 2cm pieces before freezing so the blades can blend them easily.
