The easiest and BEST Thermomix sushi rice recipe... with just 3 ingredients (water, sushi rice and sushi seasoning), you'll have perfectly cooked sushi rice in 20 minutes!
Place the rice basket (steaming basket) into the Thermomix bowl.
Weigh the rice into the basket.
Remove the rice basket and rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
Add the water to the Thermomix bowl and insert the rice basket (steaming basket) with the rinsed rice.
Cook for 18 minutes, Varoma, Speed 4.
Carefully remove the rice basket (steaming basket) and spread the rice onto a flat plate or large bowl.
Add the sushi seasoning (see notes) and mix well.
Cool the rice in the fridge before using.

RECIPE NOTES & TIPS
Weigh the rice into the basket and then remove the basket and rinse the rice through it until the water runs clear.
While the basket is out of the Thermomix, add the water.
Be very careful removing the simmering basket after the rice has cooked - it will be hot!
Pour the rice into a large bowl or plate and add the sushi seasoning (store-bought or homemade).
You can buy sushi seasoning (liquid) from the Asian section of the supermarket, or specialty Asian shops. Sushi seasoning is made from rice vinegar, water, salt and sugar. Alternatively, you can make your own sushi seasoning at home using this recipe.
Allow the sushi rice to cool before using (I recommend chilling it in the fridge and using when completely cold).
You can cook the sushi rice ahead of time and store in an airtight container in the fridge for 1-2 days until needed.
Leftover sushi rice can be frozen for up to 1 month. Allow the frozen rice to defrost in the fridge overnight before using.
