The FAMOUS Magic Slice recipe made with a crunchy biscuit base and delicious layers of chocolate, nuts and dried fruit baked with a sweetened condensed milk topping!
Preheat the oven to 170 degrees celsius (fan-forced). Grease and line a 20cm square baking tin and set aside.
Mix the crushed biscuits and melted butter together until combined. Press the mixture firmly into the base of the prepared tin and flatten with the back of a spoon.
Sprinkle over the chocolate chips, followed by the coconut, dried cranberries and almonds.
Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the top.
Bake for 30 minutes or until golden. Allow to cool in the tin before chilling in the fridge until firm. Use a sharp serrated knife to cut the slice into pieces.

RECIPE NOTES & TIPS
Line your baking tin - line your baking tin with baking paper to prevent the slice from sticking to the tin and allow for easy removal.
If you notice that the slice is browning too quickly - place a sheet of foil loosely over the top and continue baking.
If you'd like a thinner slice - use an 18cm x 28cm (7" x 11") slice tin (personally I like the thicker base from using a smaller square tin!)
Chill in the fridge until firm - this will help to cut the slice neatly. If you try to cut the slice whilst warm it can get a little messy. Have a look at my how to cut perfect slices post for more hints and tips on cutting a slice neatly.
Storage - store magic slice in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week or freeze for 1 month.
Mix and match ingredients - you can substitute the cranberries and slivered almonds for other dried fruit or nuts if you like. Swap the almonds for macadamia's or pecans, even walnuts or unsalted peanuts would work well here too. Sultanas, currants or chopped dried apricots could be substituted for the cranberries!
