Jalapeno Popper Wonton Cups! Combining the BIG, BOLD flavours of classic jalapeno poppers with a tasty twist - crunchy wonton wrappers. Ready in under 30 minutes!
250gbaconcooked until crispy and then chopped into small chunks
85g (1 cup)cheddar cheesegrated
4jalapenosdeseeded and finely chopped
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 170 degrees celsius (fan forced) or 340 degrees fahrenheit.
Spray a 24 hole mini muffin tin with cooking oil and gently press a wonton wrapper into each of the holes.
Cook for 10 minutes or until slightly golden. Remove from the oven and set aside.
In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, bacon, grated cheese and chopped jalapenos. TIP: Reserve a small amount of bacon and cheese for sprinkling on top. If using a Thermomix - grate the cheese for 10 seconds on Speed 8. Add the remaining ingredients and mix for 10 seconds on Reverse, Speed 4, or until combined.
Divide the mixture between the wonton cups. Sprinkle over the reserved cheese and bacon.
Cook for 8 minutes of until warmed through and the cheese has melted.
Serve immediately.
Notes
RECIPE NOTES & TIPS
For extra crispy wonton cups, lightly spray the wonton wrappers with cooking oil before baking.
To add extra spicy heat, increase the amount of jalapenos or add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the filling.
For a vegetarian option, replace the bacon with diced red capsicum or simply omit it.
