Instructions

Conventional Method

  • Place the butter, sweetened condensed milk and Turkish Delight chocolate into a microwave-safe bowl and melt on 50% power for 3-4 minutes (or until melted).
Note: Alternatively you can melt the ingredients in a saucepan on the stovetop.

  • Melt the white chocolate and vegetable or coconut oil in the microwave on 50% power, stirring regularly.
  • Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the slice.
  • Working quickly, place tiny drops of food colouring onto the chocolate and use a skewer or a knife to make swirly patterns.
  • Place the slice into the fridge for a minimum of 3 hours.

Thermomix Method

  • Place the biscuits into the Thermomix bowl and crush for 8 seconds, Speed 8. Set aside in a separate bowl.
  • Melt the sweetened condensed milk, butter and Turkish Delight chocolate in the Thermomix bowl for 4 minutes, 60 degrees, Speed 2.
  • Add the desiccated coconut, crushed biscuit crumbs and Turkish Delight chunks and mix for 10 seconds, Reverse, Speed 4.
  • Pour mixture into an 18cm x 28cm lined rectangular slice tin and press down firmly.
  • Melt the white chocolate and vegetable or coconut oil in a clean and dry Thermomix bowl for 3 minutes, 50 degrees, Speed 2. Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the slice.

RECIPE NOTES & TIPS
Ingredients Info:
  • Turkish Delight chocolate block - I use Cadbury brand Turkish Delight Chocolate but if you can't find that particular brand then you an substitute it with a similar soft Turkish Delight filled chocolate or alternatively you could use plain milk chocolate and extra chopped up Turkish delight (either Fry's or traditional Turkish Delight).
  • plain sweet biscuits - I use Arnott's Marie Biscuits in this recipe but any plain, sweet cookies will work perfectly.
  • sweetened condensed milk - choose full fat sweetened condensed milk, not the skim version, as it won't set as firmly enough in this recipe.
  • Turkish Delight bars - I use Fry's Turkish Delight in this recipe but a traditional Turkish Delight would work just as well.
  • vegetable oil - it's important to use a neutral tasting oil (such as vegetable oil or coconut oil) in this recipe so as not to effect the taste. The oil helps with swirling the colour through as well as making it easier to cut through the chocolate topping when sliced.
  • pink food colouring - use a liquid food colouring (not a powder) in this recipe.
More Recipe Tips:
Cutting the slice - take the slice out of the fridge for approximately 20 minutes before cutting. Use a hot and dry knife (dip the knife in hot water and then dry completely) to score the slice. Once the slice has been scored, press down firmly with the knife to slice all the way through.
Storing & freezing - store Turkish Delight Slice in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week. Alternatively, wrap well and store in the freezer in an airtight container for up to three months.
