Equipment

  • Microwave or Thermomix

Ingredients

  • 12 marshmallows
  • 250 g milk chocolate
  • 150 g white chocolate
  • 24 green mini M&Ms
  • 12 red mini M&Ms

Instructions

  • Place one marshmallow onto the top of a cake pop stick.
  • Repeat with the remaining marshmallows.
  • Melt the milk chocolate in the microwave on 50% power for 2-3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until just melted (if using a Thermomix, melt on 60 degrees, Speed, 2, 3 minutes - scrape down the sides halfway through).
  • Dip each stick into the melted chocolate, allow any excess to drip off and then place into a cake pop holder (or a piece of florists foam).
  • Allow the milk chocolate to set (it will only take a couple of minutes).
  • Meanwhile, melt and white chocolate in the microwave on 50% power for 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until just melted (if using a Thermomix, melt on 60 degrees, Speed, 2, 2 minutes - scrape down the sides halfway through).
  • Using a teaspoon, place a dollop of white chocolate onto the top of each marshmallow and use your spoon to push some of the chocolate over the edge (to resemble dripping).
  • Working quickly, place 2 green mini M&Ms and 1 red mini M&M onto the white chocolate (if your chocolate has already set, simply add a tiny bit of melted chocolate to the bottom of the M&Ms and 'glue' them on).
  • Tie a ribbon around the base of each marshmallow.
  • If giving these marshmallow pops as a present, simply wrap in cellophane and tie with ribbon.

RECIPE NOTES & TIPS
  • Use standard sized marshmallows (not jumbo or mini) - I generally use these ones.
  • Add a little coconut oil or vegetable oil to your milk chocolate when melting as this will make it easier to coat the marshmallows.
  • Allow the milk chocolate to set before drizzling with white chocolate.
  • Red & green mini M&Ms can be bought in a tube of mini multi-coloured M&Ms - simply remove the red and green ones to use.
  • Cake pop sticks are small plastic sticks that can be bought from the baking aisle of supermarkets.
  • If you have a cake pop holder/stand, this is very useful for holding the marshmallow pops upright while they set. Alternatively, you can insert them into a piece of foam while you decorate.
