Equipment

Ingredients

  • 500 g beef mince
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 70 g breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Tabasco sauce
  • 200 g bacon
  • 4 hamburger rolls
  • lettuce, tomato, cheese, avocado and cucumber, to serve
  • burger sauce (or any sauce you like)

Instructions

Conventional Method

  • Mix the beef mince, onion, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic, Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco sauce together in a large bowl until well combined. 
  • Divide mince into 4 equal sized patties and place onto a plate. Season with salt and pepper. 
  • Cover with plastic wrap and pop into the fridge for 30 minutes or until you're ready to barbecue the patties (*these patties can also be cooked in a frying pan).
  • Place the beef patties on a barbecue grill to cook. Turn the patties over once during cooking.
  • Add the bacon after a couple of minutes. Remove the bacon when crispy and set aside.
  • Set the burgers aside when cooked to your liking.
  • Serve the hamburger rolls with bacon, a beef patty, lettuce, tomato, avocado, cheese and cucumber. 
  • Top with burger sauce.

Thermomix Method

  • Place the onion (halved) into the Thermomix bowl and chop on Speed 8, 10 seconds. 
  • Add the beef mince, onion, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic, Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco sauce and mix on Reverse, Speed 4 until combined (using the spatula to help mix). 
  • Divide mince into 4 equal sized patties and place onto a plate.
  • Season with salt and pepper. 
  • Cover with plastic wrap and pop into the fridge for 30 minutes or until you're ready to barbecue the patties (*these patties can also be cooked in a frying pan).
  • Place the beef patties on a barbecue grill to cook. 
  • Turn the patties over once during cooking.
