Kickstart your day with this super healthy and low fat Strawberry, Banana and Chia Smoothie. It’s packed full of protein, omega 3s and antioxidants!
Some may call it being lazy, some may call it being time poor… I like to think of it as being ridiculously clever and making a super quick, healthy and nutritious breakfast that you can literally drink while running out the door!
And what is this wonder drink? A smoothie of course! And this one is full of protein, omega 3, fibre and antioxidants. You don’t have to be a nutritionist to know that this is going to be pretty darn good for you!
Lately I have been loving smoothies. I don’t know if it’s because the weather warming up or what, but all I want to do is make a bazillion smoothies and drink them while laying in the sun… preferably with one of those little umbrellas sticking out the top. I like those umbrellas.
The only problem is that I am always hungry and snacking on food, so if I was to just have a plain smoothie for breakfast, you could be guaranteed that I would be eating Tim Tams less than an hour later. But fear not! This smoothie is really filling and you feel like you’ve eaten a full breakfast. And I promise that I didn’t eat any Tim Tams in the hour after drinking it… perhaps two hours afterwards, but hey, what can a girl do! No-one has the willpower to say no to Tim Tams. Especially the double chocolate ones. Oh and the caramel ones. Oops sorry, this is meant to be a healthy smoothie post, not a chocolate laden, calorific post!
This strawberry, banana and chia smoothie really is so yummy that you could be forgiven for thinking you are eating dessert, whereas in actual fact you are slurping down one healthy, little smooooothie!!!

Super Strawberry, Banana and Chia Smoothie!
- 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries
- 1 banana
- 1 tablespoon black chia seeds
- 2 tablespoons vanilla protein powder
- 1/3 cup vanilla yoghurt
- 1/2 cup skim milk
Place all ingredients in a blender.
Blend until smooth.
Pour into a glass.
Enjoy! Sooooo easy!
