It’s nearly Halloween and any excuse to play around with making some yummy and cute (oops sorry I mean scary!) food is a-ok by me! I just love these Halloween party food ideas and hope you do too… whether you are going out trick or treating, having a Halloween bash, or even if you just feel like doing a bit of fun baking!
1. Spider Web Snacks
If you are a pretzel lover then these will be right up your alley! So easy, no bake and lots of fun for little kiddies! Just lay out some pretzel sticks in a star shape, pipe over some melted white chocolate (for the web), pop a couple of raisins in the middle and then pipe on tiny milk chocolate spiders.
2. Chocolate Jack-O-Lantern Cookies
Oh yeah! I am a cookie addict and these look sooo good! Simply cut grooves (not the whole way through) in the shape of a jack-o-lantern face into your favourite chocolate cookie recipe and fill them with green or orange icing! You could also make cookies in the shape of skulls… but I’m really quite liking the jack-o-lanterns the best!
3. Creepy Cupcakes
Ooh I find it hard to choose my favourite out of cookies and cupcakes… it’s a bit like choosing your favourite child (I’m joking!!!!). I love both cookies and cupcakes A LOT… too much in fact. But there is a time and a place for a cookie, just like there is a time and a place for a cupcake. So, if you are at a time and place where a cupcake is called for, then these creepy cupcakes will be just the ticket to sugar heaven!
4. Bat and Spider Chocolate Crackles
These cute crackles are from one of my favourite recipe websites – www.taste.com.au. So easy and yet you know that everyone is just going to go crazy for them!
5. Mummified Mini Sausages
Hmmm I thought I better include at least one savoury item in this halloween party food list. Can you tell I have a sweet tooth? But these are far too hilarious not to include! All you need to do is cut puff pastry into strips and wrap around a cocktail frankfurt. Pop in the oven to crisp up and then eat, eat, eat. Don’t forget to dunk these into some tomato sauce so that it looks like oozy, gooey blood! Very halloween like 🙂
Hope you are having fun getting ready for Halloween!
