We had our first Christmas party of the year this weekend and if it was anything to go by, it’s going to be an amazing lead-up to Christmas!
We spent the weekend in Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula which is one of my favourite places in Victoria. We ate lots of yummy food (far too much yummy food actually), visited a winery and kicked back and relaxed in the sunshine. Oh and you will not be surprised when I tell you this… I visited the same gourmet chocolate shop twice (in the one day!). I even had time for a bit of a pamper at one of the local day spas. I tell you, it’s tough work eating all that chocolate!
My favourite part of the weekend was having dinner at the same restaurant my husband and I went to on the night we got engaged nearly six years ago! Who would have thought we would have been back there celebrating a Christmas party six years later!
The place we stayed was absolutely gorgeous too and I found out that they run cooking retreats as well (which I was super interested in until I saw the price!!). We felt like we were in the middle of nowhere with kookaburras and even a kangaroo hanging around.
Now that we’re back home I am wishing that there was one more day in the weekend so I could catch up on the mountains of washing, cleaning and grocery shopping that the little magical fairies forgot to do while we were away!
Have you started doing the Christmas party rounds yet this year or do you still have a few more days before the fun begins?
