This smoothie reminds me so much of summer! I love summer fruit and while we normally eat bananas year round, mangoes are definitely a summer treat! When we were in Queensland over Christmas we bought a box of 21 mangoes from a fruit stall on the side of the road for $15!!!! That’s less than $1 each. I quite literally thought I had died and gone to heaven. 🙂
Anyway, we had this smoothie on the weekend with some homemade hot cross buns and it was all kinds of crazy good. You could definitely just have this smoothie for your breakfast on it’s own, but hey it was a lazy weekend and it was shared between two of us!
I like to freeze yoghurt into ice cube trays so that your smoothies are extra cold. I also peel and freeze any bananas that are super ripe so they are quick and easy to grab out of the freezer whenever you want them (perfect for the day that you crave banana cake…. and that day will definitely come around!).
Super easy, super quick… perfect for a hot summer morning 🙂
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 ripe mango
- ½ cup low fat vanilla yoghurt
- 1½ cups low fat milk
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 tbs chia seeds (optional)
- Place all ingredients into a blender and whiz away!
